First of all, I wanna tell you guys that I already have a job! Yay! I’m gonna start on September 25. I’ll tell you all the details probably on my next post. While I’m not yet working, I’ve been spending time on watching anime, and fell in love with Lelouch.
For those of you who don’t know, Lelouch is the main character of the anime Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion— It’s an action and drama series that is actually reminiscent to Death Note because of the supernatural power to control people’s lives (not necessarily kill them) and Gundam 00 because of the eradication of war between Japan and Britannia through armed intervention by an organization founded by Zero (Lelouch’s alias), called The Black Knights (and the robots in Code Geass pretty much look like the ones in the Gundam series).
I was going to write a review about Code Geass from season 1 to 2, but then I decided not to because for sure, a lot of other anime bloggers wrote about this already so I’ll just write about Lelouch’s love interest.
There were 3 primary girls that Lelouch (the guy in the picture) has shown attraction to, namely, Shirley (orange hair), C2 (green hair), andKallen(pink hair).
Agh! I really hate writing spoilers but I’ll do it anyway and ruin it for the ones who haven’t watched Code Geass yet, hahaha! (Sinister laugh) I suggest you stop reading here if you don’t want to spoil yourself. Last call… Here we go…
Shirley was the only one of the 3 to have obvious feelings for Lelouch, but even moments before her death Lelouch didn’t show he loved her at all, rather he felt guilty for bringing such despair on Shirley. Most people mistake this sympathetic side of Lelouch as a sign of love, though in some scenes, Lelouch did admit he liked Shirley. If Lelouch really loved Shirley, he wouldn’t let her die, knowing he has the power of Geass.
Lelouch’s relationship with C2 seems to be more of a partnership than a romantic interest. But in some scenes, Lelouch has shown some sort of feeling towards her, like the time when C2 almost died. C2 has shown some affections for him as well even though she was so passive. She was also the one who saw through his mask before everyone else did. She was the only one who knew Lelouch’s true intentions for the world.
So if you ask me who Lelouch loves the most? I’d say it’s Nunnaly, his little sister because Lelouch said in the series that she was his only reason to live. On the other hand, when it comes to the romantic kind of love, though not directly stated in the series, I would say it’s Kallen, because she was the girl (who was not related to him by blood) who made the greatest impact to Lelouch’s and Zero’s life.
Lelouch made advances towards Kallen (unlike the 2 other girls), even before she found out that he was Zero. She was very important to him aside from the fact that she was his ace pilot. The Black Knights also noticed that Zero had some sort of favoritism for her. Here are some cute moments they had together…
When Kallen was captured by the Britannian forces, Zero started to act wrecklessly during battle. If you’ve already watched season 1 and 2, you’ll notice that Zero’s actions were affected by his personal feelings.
It was clear that he cares for Kallen, especially when he shielded her from himself after his identity was revealed to the Black Knights by telling her she was just a pawn, to isolate her from the doubts of her comrades and secure her safety. He also told her to live like he did with Suzaku.
Lelouch lied to Kallen, and even his beloved sister, Nunnaly, and everybody else, so that he can give all of his loved ones a better future.
There was a part of Lelouch that wanted to be with Kallen, but he was so ridden with guilt and hatred that he cannot bring himself to lose her as he has lost so many others. This was the reason why he isolated himself from her, showing no reaction after she kissed him and said to him “So this is goodbye…” (where sad music was queued while they were kissing). Anyway, this is just my opinion. Lelouch didn’t really say he was attracted to anybody. Hehe!
So there, if you’ve read the whole blogpost by clicking the Show button, but you really don’t want to spoil yourself, I’m sorry but I warned you. To make it up to you, just look at Lelouch’s eye on the left…
“I, Lelouch Vi Britannia, commands you to forget everything that was written in this blogpost, and after you do, watch Code Geass!“
